Where it all began...

At about the second or third week of school, I decided it was time to start teaching the kids about birds.  I opened the box from SD Game, Fish and Parks in front of the kids and they saw their very own Backyard Birds of SD field guide.  This is what I first used to teach the students about birds along with a Power Point slideshow of local birds.  They keep their booklet in school all year long and by now they have nearly every bird in there memorized.  We are thankful for these booklets as they were a wonderful teaching tool!
